Israel
Israel was born in 2015 in a small city in Guatemala without legs. At a young age, he was able to connect with Shriners Hospital for Children in Salt Lake City to be fitted for prosthetics and receive specialized orthopedic treatment.
Israel has aways had to navigate a challenging world, but Covid presented an even greater hurdle for this strong boy. With travel shut down worldwide, Israel outgrew his orthopedic legs and could no longer use them.
For more than a year, he was unable travel to receive new legs that would enable him to walk. He and his family were overjoyed in January 2022 when we could finally fly him to Shriners Hospital for Children for his new legs. Israel’s pandemic experience was immobilizing, and we’re thrilled that our flights could help him back on his feet and walking!
